Hanmi Science will make joint efforts with North Gyeongsang, Pohang City and Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH) to develop new drugs.
Hanmi Science executed an accelerator-based new drug development agreement with Pohang City and Pohang University of Science and Technology at POSTECH’s headquarters on the 25th.

The protocol includes researches on the structure of cell membrane proteins using cutting-edge research equipment such as radiation accelerators and cryogenic electron microscopes, and cooperation in the development of new drugs based on the structure of target proteins. In order to train talents for new drug development and biotechnology optimization, it is also settled to conduct education and training on new drug development at the same time.
North Gyeongsang and Hanmi Science plan to open research facilities and equipment such as the Bio-Open-Innovation-Center and the Cell Membrane Proteins Research Institute, and jointly utilize research laboratories and equipment established by the research institutions affiliated to Hanmi Pharmaceuticals.
The signing ceremony was attended by Dal-hee Lee, Director of the North Gyeongsang Government Office, Chongyoon-Lim, Director of the Science Department of Hanmi Science, Kang-deok Lee, Mayor of Pohang City, Moo-hwan Kim, President of Pohang University of Science and Technology, and In-seon Lee, Director of the Kyungpook Daegu Economic Free Zone.
Dal-hee Lee, Governor of North Gyeongsang Province, said: “We will promote closer cooperation through the joint participation of the government and external research projects.”
